It’s been a busy week at Harbour House. We’ve had the BBC filming with us for 3 days from 6am – 11pm each day. Alison Holt (BBC Correspondent), Tony Smith (Camera Operator) and Sophie Woodcock (Social Affairs Producer) have all been here filming and interviewing for a week long series for the 6 O’Clock and 10 O’Clock BBC News. They are here to help highlight the current funding crisis and challenges faced by the the whole of the Social Care Sector across the country. By interviewing our residents, their families, our staff and all the NHS professionals who work in our building, we hope that we have helped to show the public just how challenging it is to run a good care home with limited funding and services that are often at ‘breaking point.’ Our residents and staff have really enjoyed being a part of this and hope that it will help to raise awareness of the current status across health and social care sectors.
The series will be on the national news in May and we will let you know exactly when closer to the time.
